Accord­ingly, we do not remove a page from our search results sim­ply because its con­tent is unpop­u­lar or because we receive com­plaints con­cern­ing it.
  • A mes­sage from Google • Describ­ing their deci­sion to keep a now-removed racist image of Michelle Obama on the site. It wasn’t for rea­sons of racism, but rather the integrity of the results. The image, which grotesquely por­trayed Obama as a mon­key, has since been removed by its Chi­nese owner, who apol­o­gized for putting it online, as well as the con­tro­versy it caused. source
