Tech: A virtual bank CEO on EVE Online is apparently a dirty criminal

  • 200 billion in EVE Online’s currency, interstellar kredits, was sold on the black market by player Ricdic, the CEO of the game’s EBank
  • $6,300 bucks the amount in Australian money Ricdic got for the scheme, which paid for a home deposit and some of his son’s medical bills source

    so… basically a guy got ahead any way that he could by abusing a game that focuses on getting ahead any way that you can?

    i don’t think i’ll ever play monop­oly the same way again.

    Speak­ing as someone who used to play, this man is playing EVE exactly how it’s supposed to be played: No holds barred cutthroat exploita­tion of other players. Too bad he went with the real money trans­ac­tions, though. He’s proba­bly banned for life by now.
