Good news: In what may be his last high-profile move as Newark’s mayor, Senator-elect Cory Booker (D-NJ) married a number of couples in the city early this morning, as same-sex marriages are now legal in the state.
Bad news: When asked if there were any objections to the union, a protester loudly shouted, “This is unlawful in the eyes of God and Jesus Christ.”
Better news: The protester was escorted out and the marriages went along as planned. (photo by John Munson/The Star-Ledger)

So hey guys, I’ve been a bit MIA in recent days because I’ve been busy getting married and dealing with a lot of wedding craziness. Among the craziness: Our wedding was supposed to be outdoors, but three days of flooding turned the yard into a pool; as a result, months of work on the yard, a giant tent, and a surprisingly awesome port-a-potty went to waste; we only had a couple of hours to decorate our backup venue; and, due to a rental car issue, our photographer couldn’t show up, so we largely had to rely on iPads and smartphones to document the day. But somehow, my sister took this photo, and all was right with the world. — Ernie @ SFB

Kim Jong-un marries: This lady next to him is reportedly his new wife, Ri Sol-ju. Surprisingly not as heavily covered as the Royal Wedding was. Or even the Kardashian wedding, really. (photo by Korean Central News Agency/Reuters)

It was no different than any other wedding I’ve attended when you have two people who are in love with each other.
Texas Rep. Al Green • On going to the wedding of Rep. Barney Frank and his longtime partner, James Ready, on Saturday. Current Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick officiated the ceremony, noting (jokingly) that the couple vowed to love one another through Republican and Democratic administrations alike. Though Frank is usually very media-friendly, the soon-to-retire congressman kept his wedding private. “We’re not doing any media today,” he told Reuters. Good for them!

Very happy to announce that as of this morning, Heather and I are legally married (at least in DC). 20 years to the day after our first date.
Dick Cheney’s daughter, Mary • Revealing that she got married to her longtime partner, Heather Poe, on Friday. The couple, which has two children, lives in Northern Virginia, but got married in Washington DC, one of the areas where gay marriage is legal. Congrats guys!

Hugh Hefner somehow getting 23-year-old Playmate to marry him
These are the words of a man who’s getting engaged to a woman three-and-a-half times his age. That’s right, our boy Hef is getting hitched to Crystal Harris, a playmate who at 23 years of age should make Hugh Hefner’s 84-year-old bones feel brittle in comparison. How does he do it? We mean that in more ways than one. source
