You Saw This Coming of the Day: An Anonymous Post on 4chan’s /b/ Possibly Linked to Virginia Mall Shooting
The main suspect behind today’s shooting at a shopping mall in Virginia appears to have revealed his plan in advance on 4chan’s /b/ board only minutes before carrying it out, according to Gawker. While the authenticity of the post has yet to be verified by the officials, details are still emerging about the suspect (who is now in police custody) and we’ll bring more updates as the story develops.
The link to the portfolio site on the document matches the name of the just-announced suspect, Neil Macinnis. His name was announced less than five minutes ago, by a local news outlet.

Meet Charles, the Norfolk, Va.-based “Lab-a-lion” whose owner-cut mane (in honor of Old Dominion University’s mascot) was so convincing, that people called 911, freaked out that it might be an actual lion. We’re still waiting for the full impact of Hurricane Sandy. But we’ve got at least a sense for what lies ahead in the next hours and days.
The National Weather Service has issued a series of warningsup and down the East Coast.
Below, we take a geographical look at the five most politically important areas in the path of the storm:
1. Philadelphia: This is where Democrats win elections in Pennsylvania, and it’s smack-dab in the middle of where the hurricane is supposed to make landfall. There is currently a flood warning in place for Philadelphia. The question is whether whatever happens over the next week hurts turnout in this vital area of the state. There is no early voting, so Democrats won’t be losing votes before Election Day, but they’ll need this area to come out strong on Nov. 6. If it doesn’t, that could give Republicans a better chance in a blue-leaning state (and a huge electoral vote prize).
The Post’s list of potentially affected regions also includes Boston, southwest Virginia, western and coastal North Carolina, as well as both northern and eastern Ohio. The storm is expected to leave tens of thousands, possibly even millions, of residents without power, and has already forced the cancellation of early voting in some parts of North Carolina. Could all this bad weather have an effect on the final results?

And for a conservative, voting for Virgil Goode is a vote for Barack Obama. Virgil’s not going to win.
Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell yesterday during a radio interview, when asked if Constitution Party candidate Virgil Goode would sway the national election.
Goode recently received permission from Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli to stay on the Virginia ballot. The state’s Republican party sought to remove Goode from the ballot, citing irregular petitions to get on the ballot for the national election. (via The Roanoke Times)
Mitt Romney chooses Paul Ryan as running mate
Mitt Romney has chosen Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan to be his vice presidential running mate.
Sourced reports of the news emerged late last night, and Romney’s “Mitt’s VP” mobile app confirmed the choice this morning. Romney is holding an event in Norfolk, Virginia, at 9 a.m. EDT today to make the formal announcement. More updates on BreakingNews.com.
