In which former Senator Alan Simpson, R-Wyo., dances Gangnam Style. The reason? He wants young people to become involved in a discussion about cutting the national debt. Does this video inspire you to become involved?

This is the sight of a man saying, ”Screw it. Nothing else has worked.”

Twitter now allows you to e-mail tweets from the web: Because this makes sense as a feature introduction in 2012, apparently.

Twitter Hacked? Company Resets Some Passwords Some Twitter users received emails Thursday from the social media company stating that their account may have been compromised after a potential security breach. “Twitter believes that your account may have been compromised by a website or service not associated with Twitter. We’ve reset your password to prevent others from accessing your account,” the email stated.
Twitter also stated in the email that users should not reuse their old password and should create a new password that included a combination of letters, numbers and symbols.
The company also recommended that users check their browser’s address bar when visiting the Twitter website to make sure the URL is indeed Twitter’s legitimate site.
“Phishing sites often look just like Twitter, so check the URL before entering your login information!” the company said in the email.
Twitter did not immediately respond for comment.

Well, Ms. Coulter, you, and society, need to learn that being compared to people like me should be considered a badge of honor. No one overcomes more than we do and still loves life so much.
John Franklin Stephens, a Special Olympics athlete and “global messenger” • Responding to Ann Coulter’s insensitive tweet about the presidential debate this week. “I wondered if you meant to degrade him as someone who is likely to receive bad health care, live in low grade housing with very little income and still manages to see life as a wonderful gift,” Stephens continued, “because, Ms. Coulter, that is who we are — and much, much more.” source

People have Plato’s form in their mind of what a leader is, or what a CEO is, and it is a bunch of elements that I really don’t conform to at all. I’ve given this a lot of thought, and I came to the conclusion that I don’t care.
Twitter CEO Dick Costolo • Discussing why he’s not your average CEO by any stretch of the imagination. Shocker, right? Well, how many CEOs do you know that had a career in improvisational comedy before moving into the world of startups? Costolo only got into the game in an effort to fund his comedy career, then ended up selling three of his startups along the way, including FeedBurner, which Google bought for $100 million in 2007. Good piece from the New York Times, though it’s disappointing that the piece didn’t discuss the API controversy at length.

The flow of tweets during last night’s debate: Jim Lehrer’s smackdown of Romney (“Let’s not”) was the highest-flying moment of the evening, though Obama’s “I had five seconds” was directly behind. (ht Hypervocal)

  • 1M tweets generated by the final play of last night’s Packers/Seahawks game, and most of them included some pretty colorful language according to the folks at Twitter.
  • 150k retweets of comments made by Packers guard TJ Lang, including “Got f—ked by the refs.” and “F—k it NFL.. Fine me and use the money to pay the regular refs.” Something tells us that most fans’ anger isn’t going to disappear anytime soon. source
