Adam Lanza, who sources tell @cbsnews was the shooter, was 20 years old.His brother, Ryan, is 24 and is being questioned in New Jersey
— CBS News (@CBSNews) December 14, 2012
So it looks like Adam Lanza is the suspect, not his brother, Ryan, as was earlier reported.
One was his mother, who was a teacher at the school. The other was his brother, who was found dead in his home today in Hoboken, NJ.
UPDATE: The shooter’s brother is alive.

Ryan Lanza, deceased, is the suspect in the Sandy Hook shooting. Various Lanza-centric Facebook pages are popping up left and right, mostly either condemning him or, in some cases, mourning his death. Let’s wait until all of the facts come in before we conclude anything, and let’s not rely on Facebook to get those facts.

Two children, husband of missing woman die in explosion: This is not a good one. Josh Powell, the husband of missing Utah woman Susan Powell, died in his Graham, Wash. home with his two children inside. But the story gets weirder: Powell was supposed to have a supervised children with a Child Protective Services worker inside, but he wouldn’t let the social worker inside along with the children. The social worker smelled gas. Not long after, the home exploded. Powell was a person of interest in his wife’s 2009 disappearance, but has long denied playing a role in the case. However, he recently lost full custody of his children after having been arrested for voyeurism and possession of child pornography.

Pukkelpop was cancelled Friday, a day after a collapsed stage, violent storm and uprooted trees killed five and injured 140 at the Belgian music fest, which included major acts (the Foo Fighters, Eminem) and up-and-comers (Odd Future, Crystal Castles). Many of the acts that played or were scheduled to play have offered condolences for the tragedy on Twitter. It’s the latest in a long line of devastating stage collapses this summer, and the worst so far by injuries. Sadly, a sixth person died in the Indiana State Fair incident from last week. source
There are no words for how awful this situation is. The kid had cerebral palsy!
We are all right. We are praying for our fans, and the people of Indianapolis. We hope you’ll join us. They need your strength. The members of Sugarland • In a tweet sent out soon after last night’s devastating stage collapse at the Indiana State Fair, where Sugarland was performing last night. There has been a spate of these lately — just last weekend, The Flaming Lips suffered a bunch of damage to their gear after a similar stage collapse in Oklahoma which took out a massive video screen. And prior to that, Cheap Trick had a stage fall to the ground in Canada, nearly injuring the band and thousands of spectators. The Indiana situation was clearly the worst, however — five lives were lost and 40 people were injured, and those numbers could go up. Devastating. source (via • follow)
The death of Alice in Chains bassist Mike Starr has us very sad: If Nirvana has the saddest story of grunge, Alice in Chains is right behind. The death of ex-bassist Mike Starr, who long fought drugs, came nine years after Layne Staley’s demise. source
That last shot Wes Leonard made? That was perhaps the greatest moment of a life that ended too soon. The Fennville, Mich. high-school basketball star made the winning basket in a game that led his team to an undefeated season. It was a great moment for a small town, but it was a victory that came with an unspeakable, unbelievable tragedy. Leonard collapsed and died soon after, a victim of cardiac arrest due to an enlarged heart. A gut punch to say the least. Our heart goes out to his family and friends. source
