Best Applebee’s tip ever (Found at Stuff Christian Culture Likes; For a related post, click here http://christiannightmares.tumblr.com/post/41956816327/cheap-pastor-who-left-0-tip-because-of-god-gets)

It’s nice to see some people have a sense of humor, to say nothing of  respect for the workers who serve them. Having worked for tips before, here’s a good rule of thumb: if you’re going to tip well, then your casual humor is richly appreciated. If not, a little snark comes off less casual than it does as overt, unnecessary antagonism.

The Gift That Keeps Giving: Dying man’s idea becomes successful charity

  • $500 was given to the waiter at an Italian restaurant by the family of Aaron Collins, after he asked his family to leave a waiter an “awesome tip” on his deathbed; they asked for donations via Facebook, and posted a video of the experience on YouTube
  • $47,680 has been donated in the weeks since the story broke — enough to give $500 to 95 more waiters/waitresses; the Collins family also launched “Aaron’s Wish,” a blog with weekly updates on their efforts to continue fulfilling Aaron’s final wish source

Peyton Manning: Great Tipper or Greatest Tipper?
Think you’re a great tipper? Check out this receipt, courtesy of the Angus Barn restaurant in Raleigh, NC, from former-Indianapolis Colt quarterback Peyton Manning’s last trip to the establishment. There’s no word on how big of a group ran up that $740 tab, but we’d probably have kept our waiting job if $300+ tips (including the added gratuity) were the norm! What about you? What’s the biggest tip you’ve ever gotten, waiters? (EDIT: The server who made this public got fired. Which sucks. Thanks to all who noted.) source
