Q: “Sum up the music industry in five words.” A: “Hungry dog chasing its tail.” Thom Yorke’s interview with The Observer is must-read. (photo by Phil Fisk/The Observer)
I think it was we, the entire Internet, that was hoaxed my friends.
You mean 99% of the internet.
Pitchfork has more on this mess. The band’s rep had to deny this news, which is unfortunate, because it’s a credibility hit for the Occupy Wall Street movement. The person who hoaxed them should be ashamed.
Also Obligatory of the Day: Thom Yorke’s herky-jerky dance moves in the “Lotus Flower” video lend themselves quite readily to a bit of the ol’ song switcheroo. For instance: Slip in some “Single Ladies,” and watch it make sense.

I fucking love the internet
And this, friends, is why they made YouTube.
Never have we been so excited to see a middle-aged man dancing like a rockstar. Welcome back, Thom Yorke. Your fans missed you. The song rules, too – a clear continuation of “In Rainbows”-era awesomeness. Oh yeah, the album’s out now, not tomorrow. source
