Have you guys not even heard Wilco or The Arcade Fire or Iron & Wine or Bon Iver or Sufjan Stevens or Broken Social Scene or Animal Collective or the entire indie movement that made the idea of one great album to define a generation seem like a misnomer? Or the incredibly diverse hip-hop that’s come out since 2001? The Strokes’ “Is This It” made the best album of the past decade that was packaged well by MTV. It’s a good album, don’t get us wrong, but there were way better albums between 2001 and 2011.
