This indiscriminate killing must stop now. The world cannot sit back and allow this to happen. Children are suffering terribly in this conflict.
Save the Children chief executive Justin Forsyth • Discussing the recent massacre in Syria, in which at least 109 were killed, many of them children. This latest massacre appears to be the last straw for many in the West, with the U.S. looking to increase its efforts to convince Russia to support a transition of power away from Assad — one that would keep much of the current power structure intact but take it away from Assad. Russia and China have notably held out on denouncing Syria, but the latest incident may making ignoring the current crisis impossible.
