This one’s for the objectivists: Here’s the trailer to the second ”Atlas Shrugged” film. (In case you forgot, the first is over here.) Ayn Rand would be proud.

Titanic 2 of the Day: Because the maiden voyage of the R.M.S. Titanic didn’t exactly go as planned, an Australian billionaire has commissioned a replica of the ship for a series of journeys that will hopefully have a happier ending.
Clive Palmer, a Queensland-based mining billionaire, is partnering with China’s CSC Jinling Shipyard to build the ship, which will be ready for passengers by 2016.
“It will be every bit as luxurious as the original Titanic but of course it will have state-of-the-art 21st century technology and the latest navigation and safety systems,” he said in a statement.
The ship’s first trip will be from London to New York — rather than from Southampton to New York like the “unsinkable” original — and Palmer admits that some potential passengers will stay away because of superstitions.
“It is going to be designed so it won’t sink. But, of course, if you are superstitious like you are, you never know what could happen,” he said, encouragingly.
No word on what kind of deck chairs the new ship will have, or how they’ll be arranged.

Does Invisible Children’s “Kony 2012” sequel calm your concerns?

“Beyond Famous” wants to clear up misconceptions: In the month since the release of the first “Kony 2012” video, a lot has happened — extreme hype, massive viralityextreme backlash, widespread questioning, congressional action and a very public mental breakdown. But that hasn’t stopped Invisible Children from trying, and now they’ve released a second clip on the phenomenon, partly an attempt to calm concerns and to more sharply focus on what the charity does in Africa, and partly to continue interest in the story of the Lord’s Resistance Army’s Joseph Kony. Of note: The voice on the video is not that of Jason Russell, who directed and narrated the first clip but was the subject of the TMZ-plastered breakdown. What do you guys think? Does this help calm some of your concerns, or are you still skeptical?

“Dumb and Dumber” sequel coming, with original stars: More evidence Jeff Daniels is having a comeback year, with this on top of his lead role in Aaron Sorkin’s “The Newsroom.” As for Jim Carrey and the Farrelly Brothers, both have previously been sequel-averse, though a prior “Dumb and Dumber” prequel which should be forgotten about does exist. Seriously, this is one of our favorite movies ever.

This is a real, official poster for Glenn Beck’s newly announced rally in Jerusalem on August 20, 2011.(via Coming this summer: ‘Restoring Courage’ in Israel – Glenn Beck)As my Israeli friends say, הוא משוגה על כל הראש.

Hah! Glenn Beck forgot the date and left in dummy characters! (Fake edit: He didn’t. He announced his plans a bit early, you know, like Steve Jobs announcing the iPhone.)
