I didn’t go around seeking out every young person for sexual needs that I’ve helped. There are many that I didn’t have — I hardly had any contact with who I have helped in many, many ways.
Jerry Sandusky • In unaired footage from his interview with Bob Costas for NBC’s “Rock Center with Brian Williams”, which prosecutors may show to members of the jury in his child molestation trial.  Costas had questioned whether Sandusky fit the modus operandi of most pedophiles, considering his heavily-cited work with a number of youth throughout the state of Pennsylvania. Many believe Sandusky’s comments will be end any hopes he may have had for coming out of this ordeal without jail time. source (viafollow)

Mitt, being asked about his taxes. ”No surprises,” he says. Great look, brah.

I learned something from that last contest in South Carolina.
Mitt Romney • On why he’s choosing to remain negative despite saying he wouldn’t. He blamed being taken down in part by negative advertising. (more here)

Debate preview: What you should expect in tonight’s #FLDebate
OHMIGOD OHMIGOD BRIWI IS MODERATING!!!!! Seriously guys, after the Gawker thing, this man can do no wrong. But the people on the other side of the stage? They’ve got a ton of issues ahead of the Florida debate, which we’ll be tagging with #FLDebate tonight. (It’ll be live over here.) So, with that said — last week’s debates, especially Thurdsay’s, were nasty — will tonight’s debate have similar fireworks? Here’s what we’re watching for:
one The Newt factor. Will the South Carolina winner get the nod in Florida too? And what sort of impact will Newt’s release of his Freddie Mac contracts have on the debate?
two Will Mitt keep above water? With a Gallup poll showing him losing his massive lead over Newt and coming off a self-admitted crappy week, can he recover?
threeWill Santorum or Paul break through? Both mostly held their own last week despite weak primary showings, but holding their own isn’t enough right now. source

emmtotheatt asks: If you come across a full video of the Costas interview, will you post it, please? My feed kept going in and out.

Bob Mother Effing Costas for the win!

Costas asked very direct questions. And he’s done some good research with this story, noting how strange it is that, after he quit Penn State, he didn’t pursue other opportunities at major universities. He had an interview with Virginia; he removed himself from consideration. A good interview but a tough one to watch. Admit that some of the things Costas asked probably made viewers uncomfortable. But he didn’t hide from them. The fact that he didn’t makes the fact that Sandusky agreed to this interview seem all the more absurd.

How do you think that I feel about it? I feel horrible.
Jerry Sandusky • Discussing how he feels about the impact the child sexual abuse case has had on Penn State. “I obviously feel a part of all this,” he said. He later said, “No, I am not sexually attracted to young boys.”

More on Jerry Sandusky interview: NBC News just threw up this tease ahead of the Jerry Sandusky interview airing tonight on “Rock Center.” He’s quoted as saying he showered with young boys, rough-housed with them, and touched their legs, but he says he’s innocent of sexual abuse.

I shouldn’t have showered with those kids.
A heinous man speaks to NBC. “I could say that I have done some of those things. I have horsed around with kids I have showered after workouts. I have hugged them and I have touched their legs without intent of sexual contact.” (via imwithkanye)

Wow. Can’t believe NBC got this interview. Can’t believe he was willing to talk. We’re going to liveblog this.
