Oprah interviews the Romneys: Miss Winfrey took a trip to Massachusetts this weekend to talk with the Republican presidential candidate and his wife. The interview will run in her “O” Magazine. She remains a strong Obama supporter — an endorsement she first made in 2008, after years of keeping her political views of her media empire. Why haven’t we seen her campaign as hard as she did four years ago? “I will not be out there because I’m trying to fix a network.” source
No kidding: Newsweek’s cover on Rep. Michele Bachmann, the 2012 presidential candidate, has caused quite a stir on the interwebs over the past couple of days. It’s even inspired a couple of memes, though it’s mostly inspired anger over the magazine’s approach. Example: Terry O’Brien, the president of the National Organization for Women, said that “‘Queen of Rage’ is something you apply to wrestlers or somebody who is crazy.” Was this photo the best choice for the magazine’s cover? I think I’ll serve as secretary of state as my last public position and the probably go back to advocacy work, particularly on behalf of women and children.Secretary of State Hillary Clinton • Suggesting that, no, she won’t run for president when Obama’s done. She’s hinted at the issue before but the comments today were the first very explicit ones she’s made about her future plans. We don’t believe her. If she waited a few more years, she would most likely be president. Knowing her past ambitions, it’s hard to believe she’d give them up like that. source (via • follow)
