Politifact’s controversial “Lie of the Year”: Did the Republicans vote to end Medicare? Politifact says no. Liberal bloggers such as Paul Krugman have long criticized their reasoning on this issue, with Krugman today responding to the “Lie of the Year” with a blog post titled “Politifact, R.I.P.” For what it’s worth, it’s a game of schematics: The Ryan plan, which eventually lost popular support among voters, would’ve heavily privatized the system, making it a shell of its former self, but to Politifact, that isn’t the same as killing it. Dear Paul Krugman, your bizarre argument in favor of using a faked space alien invasion as a way to improve the economy does one thing: It gives kooks fodder for kookdom. *facepalm* This is not an argument befitting a Nobel Laureate. (h/t Jayel Aheram) source
The Nobel Prize won’t give you advice when you’re down, it won’t hug you when you need it most, hell it won’t even return your phonecalls…
Pssh, it’s a Nobel Prize for Economics. They give those to you after you get enough Frequent Flyer miles from heading to conferences on monetary policy. It doesn’t count.
