Hitting a rough Patch: Hot dog shop owner Captain Barnes showed up on a Pittsburgh-area Patch site twice this week. First, he showed up in a cutesy Valentine’s Day story. Then he showed up the next day, suspected of a bank robbery. The second story doesn’t mention the first story, but if it did, that’d be awesome. (ht Romenesko)

America Online "still gets eighty per cent of its revenue from subscribers," according to The New Yorker magazine. We need to find these AOL subscribers and TELL THEM TO STOP. And subscribe to The New Yorker instead.

Hey, if a bunch of stuck-in-their-ways morons are allowing AOL to actually do cool things with their content platform, more power to ‘em. By the way, we wonder how quickly it takes for a dollar to get sucked into Patch’s money pit.
