More on “offensivethan”

dreadfulpenny says: I can think of something more “offensivethan” that - lapdog media agencies like ShortFormBlog that seem to defend Obama at every turn. What about Benghazi? What about the overreach of the NSA? What about the IRS and their discriminatory handling of 501(c)(4) applications, including asking groups how they pray?

Obama’s been just as corrupt as Nixon and yet certain media groups look the other way. Why?

» SFB says: See this is your first mistake. You’re mistaking a guy with a laptop, opinions, and a terrible sense of humor for a media agency. I mean, have you seen the crappy jokes I make on here? Our president sucks just as much as anyone else on matters of national security, but at least he didn’t write a song called “Wango Tango.” — Ernie @ SFB

Ted Nugent, attempting to school us on what is more offensivethan calling the president a “subhuman mongrel.” Can’t think of anything more offensivethan his use of “offensivethan.”

Stuff you may have missed: February 18, 2014

According to the CBO, a minimum wage increase to $10.10 would cost half a million people their jobs … but on the other hand, another 900,000 people would jump above the poverty limit. The White House isn’t happy with this math.

The situation in Ukraine, already quite violent, translated to one of the country’s deadliest days ever on Tuesday. What’s causing the unrest? Here’s a quick explainer from NBC News.

Why you should always read the fine print: Capital One’s new cardholder contract says that the company can pay you a personal visit if necessary. Oops.

What are you gonna pick? Anything other than Hot Pockets.

Dear Obama: It’s OK not to respond to some criticism.

My fellow Americans, if we’re being truly honest with ourselves, I think we can all admit one thing. While the state of the union may be strong, it would have been a hundred times stronger if Buddy were still with us.

So again, if you have specific plans to cut costs, cover more people, and increase choice – tell America what you’d do differently. Let’s see if the numbers add up. But let’s not have another forty-something votes to repeal a law that’s already helping millions of Americans like Amanda. The first forty were plenty. We all owe it to the American people to say what we’re for, not just what we’re against.

Finally, if we are serious about economic growth, it is time to heed the call of business leaders, labor leaders, faith leaders, and law enforcement – and fix our broken immigration system. Republicans and Democrats in the Senate have acted. I know that members of both parties in the House want to do the same. Independent economists say immigration reform will grow our economy and shrink our deficits by almost $1 trillion in the next two decades. And for good reason: when people come here to fulfill their dreams – to study, invent, and contribute to our culture – they make our country a more attractive place for businesses to locate and create jobs for everyone. So let’s get immigration reform done this year.
The entirety of what Obama has to say about immigration in this huge speech. Feels like not very much.
