Obama polling super-well right now

pbump:

The Times has Obama up nine in Florida, ten in Ohio, 12 in Pennsylvania.

A national Bloomberg poll has Obama up six. 50 percent unfavorables for Romney.

Then there’s Nate Silver, who puts Obama’s odds of winning at 80 percent.

But all of this is wrong because sampling.

For what it’s worth, the RealClearPolitics averages have Obama up by 3.7 points nationwide, which is outside of the margin of error.

Here’s what’s interesting about this Gallup poll: It shows that, for the first time since July, Obama’s job-approval rating (47 percent) is higher than the disapproval rating (45 percent). Now, granted, it’s within the 3 percent margin of error, and it’s certainly not high enough for Obama to start cheering about, it is a positive sign that the president might’ve come out ahead on the recent payroll tax cut crisis.
