  • social ninjas Research by analytics service FollowerWonk, reported by AdAge, suggests that social media ninjas, marketers, mavens (and so on) are becoming far more prevalent on Twitter, with over 181,000 social media types calling themselves by this or something similar and nearly 22,000 specifically calling themselves social media ninjas.
  • actual ninjas According to a BBC report, Masaaki Hatsumi, a trainer in ninja arts, says that it’s unlikely that the the skills will continue to be passed down from generation to generation. “My students will continue to practice some of the techniques that were used by ninjas, but [a person] must be destined to succeed the clan.” He hasn’t picked one. In fact, the story has a fairly blunt headline: “Japan’s ninjas heading for extinction.”
