Our guess is: not likely. Ever wanted to know who Todd Palin is giving his political support to? We didn’t think so. Although his wife still hasn’t announced who she’ll endorse in the 2012 election, Todd is banking on Newt Gingrich. Great? Sarah said that she’s “still in that process with probably 70 percent of Americans trying to decide.” Great. source
So Newt had to cancel an appearance today … because some apparent Ron Paul supporters (who may have been Occupy sympathizers) swarmed the entrance of his New Hampshire campaign HQ. Here’s a pic of them in action, via Capital Tonight.
It was an awkward fit, and in Mr. Paladino’s first few hours on the trail it seemed a bit like a large man trying on a small coat.Carl P. Paladino, Ever Unpredictable, Stumps for Gingrich - NYTimes.com (via rubenfeld)

Instead of seizing the moment and making an aggressive case for why the contest was now a two-man race between a movement conservative and flip-flopping moderate — a unique opportunity afforded by the endorsement’s implicit-but-unmistakable critique of Mitt Romney in his firewall state — Gingrich fell back to his familiar habits, a routine marked by too much self-assurance and not enough discipline.
Let’s not jump ahead of ourselves with the “how –––—- blew it” stories yet. We have no clue how these voters are going to handle Iowa, nor what’s going to happen in the rest of the country.
I don’t think I’m going to win.Newt Gingrich, re: his chances in Iowa. This is what they mean by “lowering expectations.”
sleepswithangels says: As much as I despise Newt, I have a feeling this is slightly out of context. Like the next sentence was something like “But this isn’t the way to make it happen.” I’m just not sure he was so supportive of the whole deally.
» SFB says: You’d think that’d be the case, and that’d be understandable, but the truth is, he says this in the memo: “While the Commonwealth’s plan will naturally endure tremendous scrutiny from those who assert that the law will not work as intended, Massachusetts leaders are to be commended for this bipartisan proposal to tackle the enormous challenge of finding real solutions for creating a sustainable health system. I hope that Massachusetts’ initiative to provide affordable, quality health insurance for all continues to ignite even more debate around the subject of how to best address our nation’s uninsured crisis and the critical problems within the health system at large.” It’s full-blooded support, as far as we can tell from reading it. — Ernie @ SFB
We agree entirely with Governor Romney and Massachusetts legislators that our goal should be 100 percent insurance coverage for all Americans.Newt Gingrich • Speaking in support of then Gov. He said, she said, court papers said: On the “Answering the Attacks” section of Newt Gingrich’s website, his campaign denies the rumor that he divorced his wife when she was dying of cancer, asserting that “it was [Gingrich’s wife] that requested the divorce, not Newt.” However, court documents obtained by CNN show Newt filing for the divorce, not the other way around. A Newt spokesman responded, saying that “Newt Gingrich filed for a divorce from his wife Jackie Battley, but it was Jackie Battley who requested the divorce” (emphasis ours). But a petition filed by Battley (then Jackie Gingrich), also obtained by CNN, directly contradict this, stating: “Defendant shows that she has adequate and ample grounds for divorce, but that she does not desire one at this time.”
