Newspaper industry: We’re smart and sexy! Look at us!
We love newspapers. We think they’re awesome. We have a subscription to The New York Times. We base much of our coverage around newspaper content. But for the love of God, we would like to submit that “Smart is the New Sexy” does it completely freaking wrong. And, if you really thought that newspapers were so smart or sexy, why make it so that only members of your organization can download your ad? You want this campaign to go viral, right? Put that sucker on the internet for free in giant 6000-pixel-wide form so people can discuss it on Reddit for hours on end! We like newspapers but think this is off the mark. What do you all think?
