Navy SEAL writes a book about the decision to become a woman. Kristin Beck, formerly Chris, said she wrote the book “to reach out to all of the younger generation and encourage you to live your life fully and to treat each other with compassion, be good to each other, especially in your own backyard (where it be high school or your community).”
Bold move. Awesome to see Kristin so willing to speak out like this.
What I know is Chris and a gentleman — great guy, I knew him well, Chad Littlefield — took a veteran out shooting who was struggling with PTSD to try to assist him, try to help him, try to, you know, give him a helping hand and he turned the gun on both of them, killing them.Travis Cox, friend of slain “American Sniper” author (and former Navy SEAL) Chris Kyle • Discussing what he knew of the situation that led to Kyle’s death on a Texas shooting range. Cox leads Kyle’s nonprofit, FITCO Cares, and emphasized that Kyle often helped veterans in this fashion. “Chris was literally the type of guy if you were a veteran and needed help he’d help you,” Cox continued. “And from my understanding that’s what happened here. I don’t know how he came in contact with this gentleman, but I do know that it was not through the foundation.”

“No Easy Day” for Pentagon: The Pentagon wasn’t quite ready for an unauthorized biography written by an anonymous Navy SEAL. “Sensitive and classified information is contained in the book,” says Pentagon spokesperson George Little. The book, “No Easy Day,” describes the fateful mission that led to the death of Osama bin Laden last year. The author wrote the book under an anonymous guise, but Fox News revealed his identity last month. The man’s lawyer says the Pentagon “invites but by no means requires” publication review, though Little suggests the author violated a non-disclosure agreement. (photo by Peter Foley/EPA)
Did China get a good look at the downed Bin Laden stealth copter?: The Pentagon thinks Pakistan let the uber-powerful communist nation take a look at this stealth Blackhawk copter, which crashed just before a bunch of Seal Team 6 members killed Osama bin Laden. source
“We have received news of a twin-engine helicopter that crashed in the Directorate of Sayed Abad.
The helicopter was raided by the occupation forces in the eleventh hour of yesterday. I was surprised by the stiff resistance of the Mujahideen of Islamic Emirate.
Says the Mujahideen: Parts of the helicopter are scattered across the scene where the enemy twin-engine helicopter dropped.
The dead on board were 38 soldiers.
Eight helicopters arrived to the region to recover the helicopter and transport the dead back to their base.
At the end of the fighting, the enemy aircraft killed eight of the Mujahideen of Islamic Emirate.”
Wow, good find Matt.
» And they weren’t just any Navy SEALS, either: These are some of the guys who took out Osama bin Laden in Pakistan back in May. (Edit: There are conflicting reports.) This is horribly sad, and we’ll keep you posted as we learn more. The AP has received word of this but nothing official has been noted due to the fact that families are still being notified. The Walt Disney Company has secured the trademark to the phrase “Seal Team 6,” according to documents uncovered by NY Fishbowl.
While the rest of the world was congratulating the Navy SEALS, Disney was taking away their trademark rights. What a load of it, Disney.
However, the heavily-armed, electronically wired SEALs didn’t come with a tape measure to get an accurate height reading. According to reports, a Navy SEAL of about 6-feet laid out next to bin Laden’s corpse to gauge the Al Qaeda leader’s height. The corpse was several inches taller. An article on CBS’ Dan Farber • Noting the fairly awkward way that they measured Osama bin Laden’s height after the raid that led to his death. Could you imagine? These big hulking men just killed Bin Laden, only to have to force one of them to lay the ground next to him to do rough measurements? That’s weird. source (via • follow)
