Women are increasingly the bread-winners in the family. This is not just a women’s issue, it’s a family, a middle class issue, and we have to fight for it.

President Obama, speaking in support of equal pay for women, and highlighting his signing of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which improved the ability of women to sure their employers for pay discrimination.

Jay Townsend, the staffer for Rep. Nan Hayworth who suggested that people "throw some acid" at female Democratic senators, has resigned. Here's the statement from Hayworth:

Jay Townsend has offered, and I have accepted, his resignation from his position with my campaign. Now let’s return to talking about issues that really matter to families: job creation, spending restraint and economic development.

Townsend’s comments caused strong controversy over the weekend.
