It’s encouraging to see John Stewart back Paul on this one. Stewart is a pace setter on the left in terms of public opinion, and his endorsement will help soothe the allergy that many on the left have for supporting GOP members, even when the latter happens to be doing something right.
Nod. Props to Rand for getting the gesture right.

One of the reasons we are in this business is to challenge ourselves. And I really connected to Maziar’s story. It’s a personal story but one with universal appeal about what it means to be free.Jon Stewart • Discussing his plans to leave “The Daily Show” over the summer to direct a serious film, “Rosewater,” based on the life story of journalist Maziar Bahari, who was captured and imprisoned in Iran in 2009. Bahari, who has shown up on “The Daily Show” multiple times since his release, was accused of espionage by Iranian officials based on an interview he did with the show’s Jason Jones. Many who paid the $4.95 to stream “The Rumble” between Jon Stewart and Bill O’Reilly that aired online last night weren’t able to check out the debate dance moves due to internet issues. This morning, O’Reilly responding to the question of refunding those who couldn’t connect said “If you want your money back, it’s going to charity anyway, but we’ll do it. It crashed – the server crashed, we had so many people coming in.”

In the Q&A section, which looks vaguely like “The View.” One of the questions was about the electoral college, which Stewart supports getting rid of and O’Reilly opposes, saying “If you have a popular vote, these people in New York, L.A., they control it.” O’Reilly thinks a third party will show up soon.
