7NFL players have reportedly turned their legally-owned firearms over to team security officials, with at least one apparently claiming he no longer trusted himself to keep them. Scrutiny of athletes’ gun ownership continues, following the murder-suicide carried out by Javon Belcher last weekend, though not all of the those being watched appreciate the extra attention. “Just because we’re in the NFL, that doesn’t make us no different,” said Chiefs defense tackle Shaun Smith. “You never know when someone would try to rob you.” source
