Mitt about to speak now: He’s having a good night thus far, but it’d be a better one if he won Ohio.

elesheva:

hahahhahahahahahahahahahaha

This isn’t the case currently, but damn, a lot of people sure voted for Obama considering the results didn’t mean all that much.

Newt just credited his supporters for preventing the murder of his campaign by the media: "You believed in the power of ideas!" He’s like recapping every single thing that happened in the campaign — every high and low.

So yeah … CNN just took a huge piece of Sarah Palin bait, and are talking seriously about her maybe running for president in 2016 … or possibly even a brokered convention. They trailed her at the Alaska caucus in Wasilla. Why do you guys do this to yourselves? Taegan Goddard asks the real question we should be asking: “I wonder if Sarah Palin just voided her Fox News contract by appearing on CNN.” God, let’s hope so.

Super Tuesday: The results so far looking good for Romney, Gingrich

  • Newt Newt Gingrich did well right out of the gate, winning Georgia, a state which he served in Congress for years.
  • Mitt Not far behind was Mitt, who won contests in Virginia and Vermont. He’s cornered the “V” states, folks!
  • Rick The guy who has given Mitt the most fits is banking his hopes on Ohio, where he’s doing well in exit polls.
  • Ron The Libertarian and sneaker-wearer is hoping for some caucus magic in states like North Dakota. source

Top GOP Congressional figure Eric Cantor just endorsed …
"What I have seen is a very hard-fought primary. And we have seen now that the central issue about the campaign now is the economy,” Cantor said on “Meet the Press” this morning. “I just think there’s one candidate in the case who can do that, and it’s Mitt Romney.” With this statement, the House Majority Leader is now the highest-ranking member of Congress to endorse someone in the GOP primary race. Super PACs aggressively spend ahead of Super Tuesday. Super.

  • $10 million in Super Tuesday ads bought by Super PACs source

» Four states getting strongest focus: Ten states are holding primaries and caucuses in a couple of days, but the ones that the GOP candidates are really focused on? Ohio, Georgia, Oklahoma and Tennessee. Much of the advertising seems to be focused on trashing other candidates, with both Mitt-and-Newt-affiliated Super PACs attacking Rick Santorum — who is currently leading in Ohio. In other news, Mitt won a caucus in Washington on Saturday with Ron Paul scoring second place, though the caucus is non-binding.

Jeb Bush: Not running for president, but not for lack of fanbois
Maybe more supporters than Santorum? Andrew Card, the former chief of staff for George W. Bush, said this earlier this week: “I have the perfect candidate — Jeb Bush. But he’s not running.” Even Democrats believe that Bush could be a threat if he uses his sway with middle-class and Latino voters. Could the former Florida governor with an impressively presidential bloodline be the Republican Party’s ace in the hole? Or will he wait until 2016? source
