This guy’s awesome when he’s not handing out free service to hurricane victims, too.
tortue44 asks: hi! love your blog. maybe think about putting a trigger warning on these articles? thanks for your posts!
» SFB says: Clearly we understand your concern and try to be careful about things like this. As a transparent way to do this, the last Sandusky post was tagged with “trigger warning,” which you can use such browser plugins as Tumblr Savior to hide. We tag our posts very heavily for this very reason. This was something that another user asked about in the past, and this was the solution we came up with. Open to changing this process, though. Thanks for the feedback. — Ernie @ SFB
marypickforded asks: My dad’s a car got stolen last night from the parking area under our apartments. He’s a photographer and it had his camera and other tools and papers in there. If you could please send this out/signal boost, I’d really appreciate it. He doesn’t know what to do. It’s a 2008 Toyota Solara Convertible and it may/may not (now) have the license plate MNDGSMZ. It’s around the Lafayette, CA area and the police have also been notified, so if you find it please call (925)284-5010. Thank you infinitely.
» SFB says: Sure, we’ll offer up a signal boost for you. (The phone number for the city’s police department is above; here’s their site.) She also notes that the vehicle is all black. If you happen to be in the region, be sure to keep an eye out! And good luck finding your dad’s vehicle! — Ernie @ SFB
We just rejiggered our WordPress backend to a new host — WP Engine to be specific — with the goal of getting the site on CloudFlare and having to put out fewer technically-oriented fires in the future. As a side effect of that, our old pre-Tumblr archives, roughly two years of content, are currently offline for a few weeks until we can present them differently, and the Tumblr has moved to shortformblog.com permanently. You may encounter issues as the domain transitions and may encounter broken links over the next few weeks. We apologize for this and plan to be 100 percent again soon. Thanks for reading. — Ernie @ SFB
