Meet Naki’o.

Naki’o is a mixed-breed dog with four prosthetic leg devices. Naki’o lost all four feet to frostbite when he was abandoned as a puppy in a foreclosed home.

He now lives in Colorado Springs, happily.

hiconsumption:

Dogs are curious creatures, and the fact that they are constantly attempting to dig themselves out of the back yard should be a clear indication of this.
The Pet Peek looks allows your dog to explore his/her curiosity, seeing exactly what’s on the other side of that fence without having to dig out.

For dogs and nosy humans. Imagine the conversation with neighbors during installation.

If these catch on, it’ll be a lot easier to conjure the image of a dog astronaut to mind, which in a way is its own reward.

Poor guy. Reader sleepswithangels tipped us off to the plight his cousin’s dog, Andy Appleton, has been facing of late. “He was diagnosed with cancer this month and my cousins need help with vet bills,” he writes. “We’re in the early stages of fundraising and we’re relying a whole lot on the tumblr community for publicity.” If you’d like to learn how to give Andy a little help (and see some more photos of the little fella), head over this way.

Some sort of dog/pig thing is attacking a small town in northern Nambia, according to local residents. “This is an alien animal that the people have not seen before. We don’t have a forest here, only bushes,” Nambian official Andreas Mundjindi claimed. “So, this must be black magic at play.” Think this, except not cute.

The GOP candidates, and their canine equivalents

Dead-ringers or distant cousins? In New Zealand, Pedigree’s leading an awesome adoption drive with this insane Flash app called Doggelganger, in which you can compare the photos of people with the photos of dogs. One of our readers, Margarita Noriega, had a great idea for us: What if we took the GOP candidates and found them some canine soulmates? It’d be awesome, right? Of course! Hence, this photoset, above. How about you? Do you have a canine soulmate? Click over here to find out.

It’s hard to decide which part of this is more awkward.
(AP Photo/Charles Dharapak)

Five posts in and Awkward Campaign Photos is still batting a thousand.

The sad part is that the photo would still be awkward without the dog and probable Kid Rock fan.

My Favorite Photo Ever: A Military Dog Jumping Out of a Helicopter:
…a dog was among the contingent of commandos sent to kill Osama bin Laden. The two lead photographs show dogs jumping out of aircraft, which I find totally mindblowing.
Read on and see the other photo that blew Alexis Madrigal’s mind at The Atlantic.

Because it can’t be said enough that this photo rules.
