New song of the day: A huge-sounding kitchen-sink track along the lines of his previous songs “The Crystal Cat” or “Red F,” Dan Deacon’s newest song “Lots,” from his forthcoming difficult-to-Google album “America,” certainly lives up to its name. The album comes out August 28.

As a follow-up to our last post, mconor notes that Dan Deacon has a Tumblr, and he’s currently posting a lot of disappointed golfers. Surprisingly, he’s managed to mix it up so we’re not seeing a thousand pictures of Tiger Woods. Insta-follow.

For the late-night crowd, a little Dan Deacon. This is actually one of our favorite songs, and the guy who made the video, Jimmy Joe Roche, has a knack for in-your-face visuals and noises. Currently, Deacon, who is awesome, is working with (of all people) Francis Ford Coppola on launching his new movie, “Twixt.” Deacon wrote original music and also helped with some interactive elements. The result? Now we have our Kevin Bacon link between Wham City and Val Kilmer.

It takes a brave human being to name a song “Gravy Rainbow,” but that’s what Disasteradio just did. It’s like Dan Deacon with fewer musical chops and more weirdness. That’s a compliment. The album, “Charisma,” is available for free, too. (thanks TNW) source
