Hillary Clinton’s Resignation Letter. [via]

Dear Mr. President:
I hereby resign as the 67th Secretary of State, effective upon the appointment of my successor.
It has been an honor to serve in your administration and to represent our country around the world. I am proud of what we accomplished together on behalf of the American people and in pursuit of our interests and values. And I am more convinced than ever in the strength and staying power of America’s global leadership and our capacity to be a force for good in the world.
It has been a privilege to lead such a dedicated and skilled team of Foreign Service Officers and Civil Servants at the State Department and USAID. I am deeply grateful for their service and sacrifice on behalf of the country they love.
On a personal note, it has been a pleasure to work with you and your team. Thank you, Mr. President, for your friendship, and for the opportunity to serve in your Cabinet.
With gratitude and warm regards, I am
Sincerely yours,
Hillary Rodham Clinton

We realize that the former Secretary is a politician by trade, and as such not everyone is going to agree with her views, or even be inclined to view her favorably. What isn’t in any dispute, however: she just finished a run as probably the the most recognizable and high-profile Secretary of State in our modern American era, and may still have one big political decision ahead of her. Former Senator John Kerry was sworn in as the new Secretary today, bringing Clinton’s four-year tenure to an end.

Video: Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and U.S. Senator Ron Johnson clash over Benghazi consulate attack (via Talking Points Memo)

"With all due respect, we had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest or was it because of some guys out on a walk one night who decided they’d go kill some Americans? What difference, at this point, does it make? It is our job to figure out what happened and to prevent it from ever happening again, Senator.” Damn, Hill brought her A game.

Hillary, Conspiracy, and Blood Clots

kohenari:

From Reuters:

FLASH: Secretary Clinton suffered blood clot between brain and skull, behind right ear, doctors say. Clinton did not suffer stroke or neurological damage according to doctors.

From a million idiots all over the country:

So, then, when is she going to testify about Benghazi? #tcot #faker #conspiracy #foxnews

First we had truthers. Then we had birthers. Now we have clotters.

We have a timeline in mind to see if this effort of Kofi’s can be successful. The outer limit of that is mid-July when the security council has to decide whether or not to extend the mission. Certainly if there is no discernible movement by then it will be very difficult to extend a mission that is increasingly dangerous for the observers on the ground.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton • Speaking on the Kofi Annan peace plan, which to date has been a thoroughly unsuccessful exercise, saying the U.S. will wait until mid-July (when the UN security council would have to vote to extend the effort) to assess, thus giving the former UN secretary-general’s plan a bit more time. After a nearly uninterrupted stretch of intensely destructive violence, however, all in spite of the ostensibly agreed-to terms of the deal, it’s become quite hard not to assume the Annan plan in mid-July will look precisely how it does now — largely ignored, and sorely ineffective. source (viafollow)

Hillary Clinton: Russia is giving Syria attack helicopters
More headaches in Syria: According to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Russia is sending attack helicopters to the Syrian government. If this is true, it will undoubtedly set back international efforts to resolve the conflict. Russia, along with China, is Syria’s strongest international ally, and continues to block Western countries’ efforts to take harsher action against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. If the US’s intelligence is correct, not only is Russia not taking a harder line against Assad; it’s actually sending him more weapons. Oy vey. (Picture credit: Sergei Zhukov/AFP/Getty). source

Poll: North Carolina residents favor constitutional gay marriage ban

  • 55% favor a constitutional ban against gay marriage, which the state is voting on Tuesday; the state is the only one in the southeast without such a constitutional measure
  • 39% oppose a constitutional ban against gay marriage; a legal ban on the practice already exists in the state, but this would be much harder to repeal later on source

» The opposition pulled out Bill Clinton: As you can see above, the poll (taken by Public Policy Polling) strongly suggests that same-sex marriage advocates are facing an uphill battle. Which is why the Coalition to Protect North Carolina Families pulled out the former president to say this about the amendment: ”If it passes, it won’t change North Carolina’s law on marriage. What it will change is North Carolina’s ability to keep good businesses, attract new jobs and attract and keep talented entrepreneurs.” What do you guys think?

Jason Segel wants to make a movie with Hillary Clinton. Problem is, Hills is busy. But not busy enough to write a cute rejection letter to the actor. Enjoy.
