  • $84.8M the box-office take for the Peter Jackson-helmed “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” which drew a number of negative reviews — a step down from the “Lord of The Rings” series, which was almost universally praised — after Peter Jackson took a big risk by using a higher frame rate for the film. Just 461 of the 4,045  locations showed the film using the higher frame rate, which was one of the key frustrations of critics. source
