Sorry, Madison Avenue: The season’s best Super Bowl ad comes from Savannah, Ga., where personal injury lawyer Jamie Casino essentially created a movie trailer about his own life.

Ironically, in a CBS story about the security that goes into the Super Bowl, CBS aired the wi-fi password for the stadium on national TV. Genius.

Regarding my previous post, I was wrong. This tops it. Did Namath steal that coat from the American Hustle set?

New Jersey mayors may refuse police services for Super Bowl

  • 5 New Jersey mayors have threatened to refuse to provide police and emergency service for next year’s Super Bowl, slated to be held in MetLife Stadium in the Meadowlands. Said Seacaucus Mayor Michael Gonnelli: “The stadium… has done little to help offset any costs for the surrounding communities when larger events occur… there is little doubt that the mayors will be expecting a call that their services are needed. The answer will be clear. Don’t ask.” source

A tale of three Tweets: the power company providing electricity to the Super Dome very proud of the job they did (bottom); the power company blaming the Super Dome and/or the NFL (middle); and oh, maybe we should stop trying to place blame and fix this fucking problem instead (top).

Everyone knows that Ray Lewis sacked that transformer in an effort to extend his career.

Power goes out in Superdome, delaying Super Bowl XLVII in 3rd quarter
(Photo: AP)
NEW ORLEANS - Baltimore didn’t lose any momentum from an extended halftime.
Jacoby Jones took the 2nd half kickoff back 109 yards — setting an NFL record — to extend the Baltimore Ravens’ lead to 28-6 early in the third quarter.
Then the Superdome lights went out. Officials are still working to restore power to the stadium.
Read the complete story.

The third quarter is usually when things get boring anyway, so it’s probably a good thing that they shut off the lights.
