Sen. Saland is the 32nd vote, guys. There was a minor back-and-forth after Saland chose not to yield for discussion by Ruben Diaz, Sr. — a key opponent of gay marriage.
Senator Saland (R-Poughkeepsie) is speaking about the religious exemption chapter amendments that will be adopted before the underlying bill is passed. Would not be doing so if he was an opponent of same-sex marriage.
