I don’t know it was an exhaustive investigation. That al-Qaeda was not involved. There was some level of preplanning, we know that. There was aspiration to conduct an attack by al-Qaeda and their affiliates in Libya. We know that.
Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI) • Pushing back on yesterday’s New York Times investigation on Benghazi, which suggested the GOP-driven narrative on the 2012 attack was off base. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA)—who has led a number of hearings about the attacks—was a little more accepting of NYT reporter David Kirkpatrick’s work, but disputed the claim that a anti-Islam video sparked the terror attack and stood by al-Qaeda ties. Kirkpatrick spent a month covering this story.

The most important thing to every person is the truth and today the truth is we made a mistake. That’s very disappointing for any journalist.
CBS News reporter Lara Logan • Revealing that the news outlet believes it was misled by key source Morgan Jones in their reporting on the Benghazi story for “60 Minutes” a few weeks ago. Jones, who was interviewed under a pseudonym and whose real name is Dylan Davies, gave differing accounts to Logan and the FBI, and also wrote a book revealing differing information from what he told the FBI. “We take the vetting of sources and stories very seriously,” Logan added. “But we were misled and we were wrong and that’s the important thing.”

Nice work, CBS.

Whoa, so CBS’ Benghazi report might be compromised? Huge deal.

VIDEO: 60 Minutes airs damning report on what really happened in Benghazi

Tonight, 60 Minutes interviewed a security officer who was present the night of the Benghazi attack.  The details of what really happened that fateful night are chilling and incredibly important for every American to hear.

The report is about 15 minutes long, but I highly encourage you to watch in its entirety.

Here’s the video:

The White House has repeatedly downplayed Benghazi as a “phony scandal,” but tonight’s report further underlines the necessity for a special prosecutor to investigate the White House and the State Department’s repeated dismissal of the warning sings and refusal to send help the night of the attack.  America must know why.

This ‘60 Minutes’ report last night was phenomenal. Love Logan’s work and what was covered was really compelling, important information on the Benghazi debate. Also: They didn’t even mention Hillary Clinton’s name in the segment.

Our hearts still ache for the futures snatched away, the lives that might have been — the parents who would have known the joy of being grandparents, the fathers and mothers who would have known the pride of a child’s graduation, the sons and daughters who would have grown, maybe married and been blessed with children of their own. Those beautiful boys and girls just beginning to find their way who today would have been teenagers and young men and women looking ahead, imagining the mark they’d make on the world.
President Obama • Speaking at today’s 9/11 memorial event at the Pentagon, the site of 125 of the nearly 3,000 deaths by terrorist attack twelve years ago today. Obama also memorialized the four Americans slain during the September 11th attack in Benghazi, Libya last year — the same city in which a Libyan Foreign Ministry was stricken by bombing today. source
