Nigeria’s new anti-gay law makes it illegal to meet with other gay people

Nigeria took another step on this front Monday by passing a law, the Same Sex Marriage Prohibition Act, which outlaws LGBTQ people from even holding a meeting in public. People who break the law face up to 14 years in prison. source

In case you haven’t been keeping an eye on the news or have been stuck in your apartment all weekend, it’s really cold outside. So cold, in fact, that it might be a danger to go outdoors. Chicago Public Schools canceled classes Monday for this very reason. Consider staying inside.

A Greece, NY family whose son went missing last week found him—in a photo that ran in a USA Today spread over the weekend. He was lying next to a steam gate in DC with three other homeless men. He’s been reunited with his family.

"The homosexuals are shoving their agenda down our throats,” says a member of a group that wants to bar same-sex marriage in Utah. Ugh.

Jahi McMath’s family has until Tuesday to move the brain-dead teen to a new facility or pull the plug for good. They say they have a plan.

We oppose any action that criminalizes consensual same-sex conduct between adults. LGBT rights are human rights. We call on all governments to advance equality for LGBT individuals around the world.
U.S. State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki • Denouncing a high-court ruling in India that criminalizes consensual sex between two people of the same gender. The ruling, which reversed a 2009 ruling on the issue, calls on legislative bodies to amend the law mandating the ban. The ruling prompted protests in the country.
