In more really depressing news, viral video star Kai, a hitchhiker who we’ve posted about a couple of times on SFB due to his heroic act involving a hatchet, has been arrested and charged with murder in the beating death of a man in New Jersey. While he claims (via a Facebook comment posted before the news broke) that the man drugged and raped him, he nonetheless is being held on $3 million bail.
Guess Who’s Back: KMPH tracked down Kai, the hatchet-wielding hitchhiker who single-handedly saved a few lives last weekend, to find out what the newest internet sensation thinks of his sudden fame. This is either the greatest or worst television interview that we’ve ever seen. An argument could probably be made for both. More importantly, while the victim described in Kai’s story was hospitalized, he is expected to make a full recovery. He’s also choosing to remain unidentified at this time. Thankfully, Kai didn’t make the same choice. (Note: NSFW language, but OMG … just watch it.) source
Update: Despite our earlier claim that the victim only sustained a broken leg, he actually needed surgery for a total of nine injuries. He is still expected to make a full recovery though. — Scott @ SFB
