In reference to our prior post, which bust is better, and which bust is busted? Admit this is a totally goofy one. Heh. What do you think?

We’re pleased to bring you The Pork Barrel.
When we posted earlier this week on nwk tumblr that Newsweek basically had a “stack of spending-request letters between these GOP members and federal agencies stands more than a foot tall,” shortformblog was all, “Create a Tumblr called PoliticiansAskingForMoney.tumblr.com. It would be awesome.”
It’s a great idea.
So let’s do it.
Starting today you’ll find a handful of letters sent from politicians seeking funding or federal support for their local projects (ie. pork). Some were on the site on Monday. Others have yet to see the light of day. We’ll keep posting these scans, at least once a day, until the trough has run dry. We encourage you to read closely, and if you live near one of these projects, let us how things turned out.
We can be reached at nwkporkbarrel@gmail.com. Tips, local news reports, and additional spending-request letters are most certainly welcome.

Today in things we directly inspired. Looking forward to this. :)

I just figured that the video would be a simple love story. And then Bob leveled me to the floor when he said, ‘Here’s my big pitch. You’re a teacher, and you’re gonna fall in love with a blind girl.’ I admit, I hesitated for a moment. But you don’t hire Picasso and then tell him how to paint.
Lionel Richie, describing when the blind-girl-plus-giant-Lionel-head-statue idea was pitched to him for the “Hello” video. Bob Giraldi got his way for a video once seen as groundbreaking and now seen as an absurd laughingstock. It’s all a part of this article on the history of MTV.
