The Bow Tie Is Back: After a few years of serving as an occasional Fox News contributor, the network has revealed that Tucker Carlson and his trademark bow tie (not pictured) will be joining the Fox & Friends weekend line-up. Carlson is perhaps best known for his time on CNN’s Crossfire, for his time on MSNBC, and as founder of The Daily Caller. (Which has been in the news lately, BTW.) He’ll replace Dave Briggs, who left the show in February to co-host The Crossover with Beadle and Briggs for the NBC Sports Network. (Photo via Gage Skidmore)

I have a soft spot for Joe Biden,” he said. “I like him. But he’s dumb as an ashtray.
Exclusive Excerpt: Roger Ailes Off Camera, Vanity Fair (via brooklynmutt)

In which Ailes simultaneously plays into his own image and Biden’s Onion-bestowed image.

In case you were wondering what Mitt’s been up to since the election, Fox News did an interview with him. here’s a sample, above. ”We were on a roller coaster, exciting and thrilling, ups and downs. But the ride ends,” he told a captive Chris Wallace. “And then you get off. And it’s not like, oh, can’t we be on a roller coaster the rest of our life? It’s like, no, the ride’s over.” The full interview hits Sunday.

Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison was on “Hannity” tonight, and man, was it the best talking-heads-yelling-at-each-other session we’ve seen in a long time. Ellison called Hannity “the worst excuse for a journalist I’ve ever seen.” Hannity called Ellison “a total waste of time.” And Hannity finally kicked Ellison off. High quality bad TV right here, folks.

Why would they go crazy over waterboarding, but ignore the drone strikes … because they’re protecting the president.
Bill O’Reilly • Explaining why he thinks NBC is ignoring the drone strike memo leak—you know, the one exclusively obtained by NBC News’ Michael Isikoff—while responsible networks like Fox News discuss it at every opportunity, It’s unclear how O’Reilly and his staff were unaware that NBC broke the story, or that Isikoff made appearances on numerous NBC and MSNBC broadcasts this week, but the O’Reilly Factor host is expected to discuss his mistake on Thursday night’s broadcast. Anybody think he’ll apologize? source

It’s my understanding that Gov. Palin was offered a contract by FOX, and she decided not to renew the arrangement. She remains focused on broadening her message of common-sense conservatism across the country and will be expanding her voice in the national discussion.
Sarah Palin is leaving Fox News, guys. (ht @BuzzFeedAndrew)
