An autopsy is slated for Thursday morning; the rapper, best known as one half of the 1990s rap duo Kris Kross, was found unresponsive in his Atlanta home on Wednesday.Kris Kross rapper Chris Kelly might have died from a drug overdose, according to Atlanta police.
The 34-year-old Kelly, best known as one half of the 1990s rap duo Kris Kross, was found unresponsive in his south Atlanta home and pronounced dead at the hospital on Wednesday night.
It’s worth noting that this is still only speculation, though the presence of evidence which had law enforcement leaning towards an overdose certainly doesn’t bode well for the autopsy’s outcome. Then again, it’s unlikely that any particular cause of death will leave Kelly’s family, friends, and fans feeling any better about his sudden passing.
Tony Stark inherited his father’s brains, and eventually, heeded the call to heroism. Now, the man who put that Marvel character on the pop culture map is being beckoned toward fulfilling his own familial destiny.
Robert Downey Jr. keyed the rise of Marvel Studio’s empire of superhero franchise films, his first two turns as the title playboy in Iron Man leading to Captain America, Thor and The Avengers. With the third Iron Man film less than a month from release, the second Avengers already written and a small vault of gold a reward for his super efforts, Downey says that he’s looking toward exiting the mecha-armor for good — thanks in part to an ankle injury he suffered doing an on-set stunt.
Nothing lasts forever, but we imagine there will be more than a few Marvel/RDJ fans who are less than thrilled to hear the news. Do you think Marvel will move forward without Iron Man in future films, or simply replace the man that millions currently see as Tony Stark?
Before I am an artist, I am a father, a son, and a brother to some of the most cherished women in the world. So for me to suggest in any way that harm and violation be brought to a woman is one of my biggest mistakes and regrets. As an artist, one of the most liberating things is being able to paint pictures with my words. But with that comes a great responsibility. And most recently, my choice of words was not only offensive, it does not reflect my true heart. And for this, I apologize. To every woman that has felt the sting of abuse, I apologize. I recognize that as an artist I have a voice and with that, the power of influence. To the young men who listen to my music, please know that using a substance to rob a woman of her right to make a choice is not only a crime, it’s wrong and I do not encourage it. To my fans, I also apologize if I have disappointed you. I can only hope that this sparks a healthy dialogue and that I can contribute to it.Rapper Rick Ross finally apologizes for his controversial lyrics on Rocko’s “U.O.E.N.O.” source
More on Roger Ebert’s passing: Legendary film critic Roger Ebert has died at the age of 70 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Ebert’s career began with the Chicago Sun-Times back in 1967, and many assumed it would be over after a June 2006 surgery cost Ebert his jaw and voice. However, the film critic persisted, reviewing more than 200 films a year for the Sun-Times, and more than 300 during 2012. Ebert became the first film critic to win a Pulitzer Prize back in 1975, and was added to the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2005. He is survived by his wife, step-daughter, and two step-grandchildren. The Band’s Getting Back Together: It’s not final, but actor Harrison Ford has been quoted as saying rumors that Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill would reprise their iconic roles in the next Star Wars trilogy are “almost true” while out helping to promote 42. Still no word on the plot for Episode VII though. (Photo via jandercito) source
Vladimir Putin has reached back to Joseph Stalin’s era for a plan to improve Russians’ physical fitness, appearing with the film actor Steven Seagal at an event aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles among young people.
In a meeting at a martial arts school on Moscow’s outskirts, Putin called for physical education rooted in a Soviet-era system.
“I think it would be quite appropriate to recall the positive experience of past decades when the so-called GTO, Ready for Labour and Defence, was in use in our country,” he said. The GTO mass physical training programme was introduced in the 1930s under Stalin.
All of the jokes that could be made about this aside (Steven Seagal? Really?), while we certainly support the idea of improving children’s physical health, we’re not sure why a new program couldn’t have been created to serve this purpose. Even if there’s nothing malevolent going on behind-the-scenes, reviving a program first created by Joseph Stalin just doesn’t look good.

Donald Trump has placed himself in the middle of another controversy involving a birth certificate—this time his own.
In a letter obtained by Yahoo News, the real estate mogul and de facto leader of last year’s “birther” movement against President Barack Obama sent a copy of his New York City birth certificate to comedian Bill Maher, who earlier this week made a Trump-like demand to see it.
We hate to see charity being used as a tool for vengeance in a personal rivalry, but worse things could certainly happen than $5 million being donated to help those in need. Anybody else wishing Bill Maher hadn’t given Donald Trump an excuse to stick around in the spotlight?
On the Road with Leonard Cohen
Once “the proverbial family table” is set, everyone comes to “feast,” and the meal in question is the music of Leonard Cohen. So says Cohen’s road manager Joseph Carenza III, who has presided over Notes from the Road since July 2010, chronicling the travels of Cohen and company with photograph after photograph.
In the new year, Carenza wants to take that Tumblr to another level. He says that while actually on tour, there was “no way I could honor people’s time and attention,” given all the things he had to do. Now that he has a bit more free time and a slightly more fleshed-out crew, he’s trying to think of ways to reach “outward.”
Leonard Cohen’s Tumblr is pretty rad if you haven’t read it. Side note: This piece is written by the very awesome Evan Fleischer.

What Psy is thinking today about Gangnam Style.
You may think the song is annoying, but you have to admit it’s awesome to see how quickly YouTube can help spread cultural currency like this worldwide. Congrats to PSY.
It’s been a rough couple of days in the news, to say the least, and sometimes we all just need something to smile at. Here’s a little holiday cheer, courtesy of Samuel L. Jackson and Anne Hathaway. Enjoy! (Warning: This is absolutely NSFW) source
