The actor has supported the child since his birth. The superstar actor, who is taking this hard, “is doing everything he can to take full responsibility to take all of the spotlight off his children and wife,” according to a CNN source close to Schwarzenegger. Still though, it’s kinda tough to do so with this kind of scandal. This is pretty weird, right?
Look, we understand that Joy Behar and a bunch of blogs were calling Arnold the “Sperminator” after the revelation he had a love child. But Reuters, you’re better than this. If you want to write something about this, bury it in the 16th paragraph. Don’t put it in the headline.
Maria Shriver breaks her silence: With news of her split from Arnold in part due to his having a child out of wedlock, Maria Shriver has finally broken her silence (at least a little) on the couple’s recent separation. “This is a painful and heartbreaking time,” she said. “As a mother, my concern is for the children. I ask for compassion, respect and privacy as my children and I try to rebuild our lives and heal. I will have no further comment.” source
So yeah, that was kind of an atomic bomb of a news story TMZ just dropped, eh? It says a lot that the revelation that Arnold Schwarzenegger had a child out of wedlock would be shocking if he was just a movie star. (Over a decade ago, but still.) Problem is, though, he’s a former California governor, and as a result, the standard is way higher. Plus, he was married to a Kennedy! Anyway, here’s the apology: “I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family,” he said. “There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry.” Considering he’s done with political life, will this hurt his career going forward? Arnold Schwarzenegger, Maria Shriver separate: The Kennedys are about to lose its West Coast power couple. The former California governor (best known as a pun-friendly movie star) and his wife (best known for her time with “Dateline NBC”) have been living apart for a few weeks now. “We are continuing to parent our four children together. They are the light and the center of both of our lives,” the couple said in a joint statement, which requested privacy. » One thing Brown won’t be doing, though: The California governor quietly killed a lawsuit put in by Schwarzenegger that would have cut state worker pay to minimum wage during unresolved budget crises. Brown’s office, however, didn’t make a big deal about this. It’s also worth noting that the hiring freeze contains no specifics in terms of how much it’ll actually save.

That said, though, he notes that the bigger cost was what it did to his family. “There is a lot there that needs to be repaired,” he said.
