Dominic, Aug-05 12:12 (EDT):

Hello. Thank you for sharing your concerns about the Missing E browser extension. People are not being suspended for using Missing e.

We provide the Tumblr API in order to encourage a thriving ecosystem of applications. But, we must also ensure those applications don’t compromise the stability of Tumblr, the security of Tumblr data, or the safety and privacy of Tumblr users.

To that end, all applications that use the Tumblr API are required to comply with an API License Agreement detailed at:

http://www.tumblr.com/policy/en/api

Tumblr has given a great deal of thought to every statement in the API License Agreement. Many are there specifically to address the stability, security, safety, and privacy issues mentioned above.

When an application is not complying with the agreement, Tumblr contacts the application developer and works with them to bring their application into compliance. That is what is happening in this case. We regret any inconvenience this may cause.

Again, thank you for taking the time to share your concerns with us.

Dominic
