That’s my Bush: Soon, we’ll have a third George Bush on the scene. George Prescott Garnica Bush, shown with his uncle George W. Bush, has raised $1.2 million as he plans to run for statewide office in Texas. (The current plan is that he’ll run for land commissioner next year, but hasn’t ruled out a more-high-profile run if the cards fall that way.) Some details on New George: You already know his dad, Jeb, but the Republican Party sees him as having appeal to Hispanic voters, as his mother, Columba Garnica Gallo, is from Mexico. He’s also been on the national stage before: As a child, he spoke at the 1988 and 1992 Republican National Conventions, and he campaigned for his uncle in 2000 and 2004, supporting the former president’s immigration policies. (Side note: His grandfather, George H.W. Bush, left the hospital today.)
