3,400more homes were authorized to be built on Palestinian land in east Jerusalem this morning, following yesterday’s authorization of 1,500 more, leaving just over 1,000 of the planned 6,000 new homes awaiting final authorization. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been largely dismissive of Western criticism of the latest settlement expansion, saying that to a cessation of development in Israel’s capital ”doesn’t make sense.” source
