Stephen King finally announced The Shining sequel’s release date

1977 The Shining was released, telling the story of the Torrance family, who recently relocated to Colorado so father Jack Torrance could act as caretaker of the Overlook Hotel. Needless to say, things do not go well, people die, and fans were left with unanswered questions for 36 years.
2013 Doctor Sleep, Stephen King’s sequel to The Shining, will be released on September 24. The novel will tell the story of a now middle-aged Danny Torrance, Jack’s son from The Shining, and his new life in a small New Hampshire town. source
