Car of the future? That’s certainly the hope of the folks at Tesla Motors, the California-based automaker that turned out the all-electric Tesla Roadster, an ostentatiously designed, hyper-expensive electric sports car, back in 2008. The Model S they unveiled today is aimed at a somewhat less-moneyed crowd, though not really – while the Roadster sold for over $100,000, the Model S should clock in between $57,400 and $77,400. The company says plans for a $30,000 sedan model are underway, but this current release is something of a fortunes-changing moment for the company. What do you think? Maybe a bit rough at the price, but damn if we don’t want an electric car with iPad-style screens all over the place. (Photo by Autoviva.com) source
