  • 6 teenagers visit Los Angeles E.R.s after drinking hand sanitizer source

» Boozing at any cost? Such would seem to be the philosophy of at least six Los Angeles area teenagers who, over the last two months, turned up in hospital emergency rooms having downed over-the-counter hand sanitizer — that sixty-two percent ethyl alcohol content, you know. Some of the teens reportedly separated out the alcohol using salt first, but even with such stiff precautions, it seems you can’t drink hand sanitizer and stay on top of the world as far as your health is concerned. Though, we must admit, that doesn’t strike us as the biggest surprise.
