American charged with “spying” sentenced to death in Iran
He has 20 days to appeal under Iranian law: Amir Hekmati, a 28-year-old former U.S. Marine who holds dual Iranian and American citizenship, was sentenced to death ”for cooperating with the hostile country … and spying for the CIA,” according to Iran’s Fars news agency.
