charlieguese asks: Has there really been an increase in spam on here? Recently I've noticed a fair number of accounts like my posts, but when I look at their profiles, there's nothing on them. Not even a link to a dodgy website. Is this the same thing you just posted about?

» SFB says: This is possibly related. Keep in mind that the reason all these likes are showing up (a tell sign is that you get a ton of likes on articles you wrote months ago) are because they want to build backlinks. They can build the network of backlinks up at any time. Whenever they decide where they want to link it, all they have to do in the Tumblr backend is change their site URL to, say, smelly-ugly-socks.cc, and BOOM. They have what they wanted. We get a lot of spam every single day, and this is the reason. — Ernie @ SFB
