This poll is stupid. The Church is occupying itself with its proper jurisdiction. The Church is saying Patrick Kennedy cannot, as a good Catholic, vote for abortion laws which would increase abortion. Doing so violates Catholic morality so it is within the rights of the Church to bar him from receiving communion. These poll options do not represent reality.

  2. The Church doesn’t have to do anything. It especially doesn’t have to get itself in the middle of a wedge issue. 79% of respondents disagreeing with your take on an issue does not a a stupid poll make. Your stance was covered just fine in the first option, and four people voted for it.

I think a golden rule of politics should always be to keep religious matters and opinions separate, especially the Jesus church. No good has ever come from religion direct politics, or politics driving religion.
